LPC is rolling out for growth

LPC is rolling out for growth

The company, plastic hangers therapy helps in relaxing your tired feet. based in Hamilton, Leicester, has opened a production line at its Roanne business in the Rhone Valley which converts tissue into kitchen roll. It is set to open a second line later this year.

LPC bought the tissue manufacturing site in 2007, but until now tissue was converted to rolls off the premises. The move has created 50 jobs and there should be another 150 posts at the site at part of a Pounds 75m investment.

Site director Francois Flauto said: "Until now we were producing paper reels which were sold to other converting companies.

"By reopening the converting site, we will be able to produce finished products like facial tissues, napkins and kitchen towel ourselves which we will then sell to the retail industry.

"If things go well, we could see a second wave of recruitment at the end of the year". The conversion line at the factory had been closed since 2004.

The news comes after LPC said it was planning a Pounds 40m expansion of its Hamilton factory, creating 100 jobs.

The company wants a second paper mill next to its existing site to meet soaring demand for its products. It is currently having to import paper from Germany to make toilet tissue and kitchen rolls. The company supplies all the major supermarkets, which sell its products under their own names.
